SCOTT’S NEW YEAR’S EVE AND MY MY FIRST DAY OF 2019.

Scott’s New Year’s Eve and my first day of 2019.

Well, it was not fireworks but it was an adventure. The two sisters above are locals. I know them well and they are balls of energy and fun.

Last night however they were out in the nasty, mucky area – late at night, alone and shoeless. So, before walking them back to their home, we had our usual small talk. I saw the older girl’s wound, a nasty burn on her knee that was infected (no surprise living in this area). That is the first photo here.

We agreed to meet this morning, go to CCF’s medical clinic and get it cleaned and dressed. I went home, fell asleep on my sofa with a bar of chocolate in my hand, and woken at midnight by fireworks and yelling. I celebrated by having another bite of chocolate and went back to sleep.

So this morning we met as agreed. The sisters, in the photos below, had the fun of 1) their first ride in a car, 2) successfully dislocated my spine and 3) waiting for the nurse.
It went well but I had an angst-filled moment as the wound had to be drained. I had promised the girl this visit would not hurt! There were tears (I nearly joined her :).
In my world, telling a child lie, a mistruth or misleading them is one of the great sins.

I was forgiven afterward. My car is famously filled with dolls, toy cars, piggy banks, and teddy bears. She happily picked a doll with changeable clothing and her little sister a teddy bear.

My 2019 was off to a good start!
